REV AL SHARPTON: NOTE TO OPRAH & BARACK OBAMA… MICHAEL JACKSON’S LIFE WAS NOT ABOUT “MESS”… IT WAS ABOUT MESSAGE

“There’s nothing that can’t be done if we raise our voice as one,” is the superimpsoed quote of Michael Jackson behind Reverand Al Sharpton as he takes the stage.

Rev. Al Sharpton:  ”You would have to understand the journey of Michael and what he meant to us. The Jackson family rose from a working class family from Gary Indiana, and Michael never let the world turn him away from his dream.”

From that day as a cute kid never gave up on his dream. When Michael started it was a different world. But because Michael kept going and wouldn’t let anyone decide his boundaries, he broke down the colored curtain.

It was michael Jackson that brought white, blacks, latinos and asians together. It was Michael Jackson that fed the hungry long before Live Aid. Because he kept going, people who were separate, came together, kids in Japan, Ghana and France got comfortable together as they listened to his music. So it was no longer strange to see Oprah on Television. Those comfortable fans of Michael grew up to be 40, and he made it okay to see Barack Obama as our President. Michael did that.

It’s not about MESS, it’s about message. Every time he got knocked down, he came back in it. he out-danced his doubters. Michael never stopped.

I want his three children to know. “There was nothing strange about your daddy, it was strange what your daddy had to deal with.”

[MJ's daugther, Paris Katherine Jackson, was the first person on her feet to give a standing ovation to Rev. Al Sharpton's words. wow! That girl has got go!!!]

But he dealt with it anyway. He dealt with it for us. Mrs Jackson (Katherine) I came to say thank you (and not goodbye), thank you because you eradicated barriers and yougave us hope. Thank you Michael.” (x 3).

Um… what a sermon, as the African American community write their own history and memorial service today for one of their greats. Now that’s love in action! And what a preacher of hope!
