BEYONCE, THE 4TH MOST POWERFUL CELEBRITY IN THE WORLD
Beyonce Knowles knows how to play her cards close to her chest and very smartly. She also just works, and works and works.
She’s the 4th most powerful celebrity in the world and comes in this year at #4 behind, Angelina Jolie, Oprah and Madonna.
Here’s why Forbes Magazine picked Beyonce: “In the last year, Queen B dropped a double album, starred in two films, performed at both the Oscars and a Presidential Inaugural Ball and embarked on what is expected to be, at minimum, a 110-date international tour. She also expanded a fashion collection that includes casual and formal lines as well as jewelry and eyeglasses, and added sponsors Nintendo, Crystal Geyser and General Mills to a roster of endorsers already including L’Oréal, Giorgio Armani and Samantha Thavasa handbags.”
Forbes makes it all about junk, and stuff, and things. But it’s Beyonce’s spirit that I love the most. A recession did not affect her, she gave herself a $7 million pay rise from last year, earning $87 million this year.
Although, she doesn’t get as many #1 hits off an album (say like Rihanna or Lady Gaga does), it doesn’t affect Beyonce, because she knows that when she performs her songs to her fans on her tours, the songs work for her. I like her creative risks she took as an artist this year on her I Am Sasha Fierce album.
She inspires Hollywood actors like Sasah Baron Cohen’s Bruno character, to rip off elements of her I Am Tour stage show. Beyonce flies above the crowd from the ceiling and Bruno ripped that off in his latest Eminem scandal prank for The MTV Movie Awards. She inspires other celebrities to copy her, which we know in show biz is called ’a tribute.’
